How to play Memory
Memory — also called Concentration or Pairs — is a simple matching game that people of every age can enjoy. Calm Memory uses large picture cards with flowers and birds in the style of traditional mahjong tiles, and there is never any rush.
The goal
Find all the matching pairs of pictures.
How a turn works
- Tap a card to turn it over.
- Tap another card.
- If the two pictures match, they stay face up.
- If they don't match, they turn back over. Try to remember where each picture was.
Keep going until every pair has been found.
Board sizes
- Small — 12 cards (6 pairs). A good warm-up.
- Medium — 20 cards (10 pairs).
- Large — 24 cards (12 pairs). A proper memory workout.
Helpful buttons
- Hint shows you one pair for a moment.
- Undo takes back a move.
- New deals a fresh game.
- There is no timer unless you choose to turn one on, and your game saves itself.
Playing together
Memory is a lovely game to share. Take turns with a grandchild or friend on the same screen: each person turns over two cards, and whoever makes a match goes again.
Why people enjoy it
Memory asks for nothing but attention. There are no rules to study, no numbers to add up, and no words to spell, so it is easy to pick up at any age. A game on the Small board takes only a few minutes, which makes it a nice short break during the day. Many people like to play a Small or Medium game each morning with their coffee and see whether they can find all the pairs in fewer turns than the day before.
